What made Adelaide Herrmann the Queen of Magic? Don’t miss your chance to see magicienne and scholar Margaret Steele pay homage to Madame Herrmann while wearing a reproduction of a custom gown made for her 1899 Vaudeville debut. Enjoy her tribute to historical illusions like multiplying spheres, a vanishing and reappearing ring, a feather dancing in mid-air, and silk scarves that untie themselves!

This summer, New York’s magical past comes to life every weekend from June 23 – August 26! Meet magicians, escape artists, fortune-tellers, and more marvelous illusionists from the past—all brought to life by Living Historians from the present. Check out our Family Calendar every week to discover each program’s special theme as it’s announced!
