Witnesses to History: Three Centuries of War on the Home Front
Showcasing documents from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, Witnesses to History: Three Centuries of War on the Home Front highlights the experiences of three extraordinary women who kept the home fires burning when their husbands went to war. The letters written by Lucy Knox (American Revolution), Mary Epperly (Civil War), and Sylvia Weiner (World War II) demonstrate how war affected families.
