Reading into History @ Home: "Indian No More"
Join us online! | Sunday, November 7 | 2-3 pm

Free; ages 9-12

Celebrate Native American/Indigenous Heritage Month and join us via Zoom to discuss Indian No More. Co-author Traci Sorell will tune in to answer your questions about the moving story of ten-year-old Regina Petit and her family, whose lives are impacted by the federal Indian Relocation Program. Regina’s family, who is Umpqua, moves from the Grand Ronde Tribe’s reservation to Los Angeles, CA. Regina and her sister, Pewee, make new friends and navigate the realities of racism in 1957 Los Angeles. Regina grapples with tough questions of identity, as she adjusts to a new way of life. Come ready to ask Traci Sorell your questions, discuss the book with other families, and learn about the history of Indigenous termination in the United States.
