New-York Historical Digital Guide

Explore the Museum from the comfort of your own digital device!

Download the Bloomberg Connects app now and experience a digital guide to the New-York Historical Society from anywhere in the world. Plan your visit, read about our history, learn more about our exhibitions, watch videos, enjoy highlights from our galleries, and much more.

And most importantly: Discover our new, free audio tour, Ever Upward: Resilience and Recovery in New York, and explore New York City’s history of resilience through a dozen historical artifacts and artworks on display throughout the Museum. From the British occupation of New York City during the American Revolution and the Great Fire of 1835 to the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, September 11, and the current COVID-19 pandemic, you’ll learn about devastating events from which the city rebounded with renewed strength.

This illustrated tour is narrated in English by Rev. Dr. Jacqueline J. Lewis, senior minister of New York City’s Middle Collegiate Church, whose sanctuary was recently destroyed by fire; the tour in Spanish is voiced by David Gonzalez. The tour is available in both languages and you can listen to it at the Museum or at home.
