Join us every Friday in-person for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special Little New-Yorkers hello song, silly dances and songs, a story book reading, and a craft to do at home. This October, we’re celebrating our new exhibition Notorious RBG: The Life and Time of Ruth Bader Ginsburg with stories of other groundbreaking women like RBG!

This week, read Mary Wears What She Wants, written and illustrated by Keith Negley. Not too long ago, women could only wear dresses. Meet Mary Edwards, a doctor in New York who didn’t care for dresses at all. Born in 1832, Mary didn’t understand why she couldn’t wear clothes that made her comfortable as a child. Following story time, create some new clothes for Mary to wear besides a dress!

Please note that this is not a drop-off program—child participants must be accompanied by an adult. This program will take place in person. Capacity limits, vaccination proof plus matching ID (for those ages 12 and up), and mask requirements apply. Please find all our safety information here.
