Celebrate National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month with our October read, Esperanza Rising! Author Pam Muñoz Ryan will tune in virtually for Q&A with families! Join us online to discuss Esperanza Ortega’s story of tragedy and resilience as she navigates loss, immigration, and discrimination. Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, follow Esperanza and her mother as they flee Mexico for California, finding themselves in an agricultural labor camp. Discuss the book with other families, look at historical artifacts, and learn from an expert guest to deepen your understanding and expand your knowledge.
